About me
Sharon (Cherry) BallardVibrant Mixed Raced British Actress and Singer.
Critically acclaimed by The London Times as an "Outstanding vocalist and performer".
Sharon was born in London but started her career as a child in The Seychelles. She became a regular on local television, entertaining presidents and visiting officials to represent the country. Sharon was also cast as the title role in Annie in the country's first ever musical.
At 12 years old Sharon returned to England and whilst performing in a school show was spotted by East End actress and television presenter Jeni Barnett who passionately decided to mentor her.
Sharon was only 15 when she was scouted to play the leading role in a gritty new musical "Time Reveals All" based on the life of the wife of one of the alleged men thought to be Jack the Ripper. She can be heard singing on the original soundtrack. The musical has since been turned into a screen play entitled "The Rippers Wife" and was later picked up by Miramax.
At 16 years old Sharon landed herself a place at "The Brit School of Performing Arts" in London alongside JesseJ, Amy Winehouse, Adele and Leona Lewis. Since graduating, she has gone on to work professionally in Theatre, TV, Film and Commercials.
Sharon has recently appeared in BBC's Eastenders playing guest character Gillian. In January 2013 she made her feature film debut in "Delicious" appearing alongside a fabulous cast including Sheila Hancock (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas) and Adrian Scarborough (The Kings Speech).
