About me
I am a Yorkshireman from just west of Halifax in the Pennines.I got a traditional Grammar School Education with A levels in Greek, Latin and Ancient History.
I went up to Oxford University and studied Law.
I attended National Council for the Training of Journalists school in Sheffield for a year and then worked as a Journalist/Reporter in East Yorkshire.
I then worked in retail for a while before getting into East 15 Acting School to train as an actor at age 28.
Additional skills:
I was brought up with the Yorkshire accent but was always encouraged to talk proper so as not to sound like I was struggling when having to talk RP. Going to a southern university helped. To most people I am consequently able, when needed, to pass for a totally convincing and curiously unplaceable southerner. I am not otherwise most people's idea of a card-carrying northerner which I suspect may have become something of a hackneyed stereotype anyway.
Additional information:
I love the outdoors and always prefer natural environments to live and work in whenever possible. My father's family were Yorkshire rural East Riding. My grandfather was a shepherd which I'm pleased about. My mother's family were from Doncaster, also Yorkshire. They were extremely nice, clean-living and hard-working people and I'm proud of them.
