About me
I am a mature and experienced stage and screen actor equally at home in a large company such as Inherit The Wind at The Old Vic (directed by Sir Trevor Nunn) or successfully touring the one man play Undeneath The Lintel by Glen Berger. In 2013 I took a central role in the feature film Onye Ozi (The Messenger) with award winning director Obi Emelonye. Speaking Igbo and being shot in "bullet time". Onye Ozi won the 2014 AMAA award for best soundtrack.
Learning to speak Igbo in Onye Ozi and performing physical and devised theatre in The Old Vic tunnels show that I am not afraid to step out of my comfort zone.
I have a professional background of a solicitor/advocate and have often been cast as a professional such as lawyer or doctor but am just as comfortable playing the family man or manual worker.
Additional skills:
Strong Singer (baritone to top G), stage combat, guitar, clarinet and basic piano. Qualified solicitor/court advocate
Stamina (completed London Marathon 2007) Full driving licence,
Over 30 years amateur theatre before decision to change career.

Additional information:
Review of Son of Man
This is a down-to-earth Messiah, taking a carpenter's interest in the cross, often angry and unsure, questioning his destiny in the wilderness at the start, and on Golgotha at the end. A towering central performance from Steve Moriaty, with a startlingly direct Sermon on the Mount, "Love Your Enemies" his war cry.

Review Of Underneath The Lintel
In Stephen Moriaty's impressive performance, our Dutchman with his date stamp and his "twisty mystery" is humourless and cold at first, but as the character develops, he seems a confused and forgetful sleuth, as his words become more confessional and confidential. (Michael Gray's Arts Blog
Review of Volpone
"Riveting, ringside stuff" (Time Out)
