from Mike Rymer, director of short film "SICK": (www.egoproject.net)

This success owes a huge debt to a central performance by Alan Breck who consistently draws strong praise from audiences and juries. Alan was a pleasure to work with and I can recommend him unreservedly.

The Journey (2006) is a wonderful short from director Katina Medina Mora, affording a fascinating glimpse at the transition from life in this world to the hereafter. A young girl, played by the luminous Lucy Joyce, finds herself lost in a sparsely-appointed world called 'the plaza'. There she encounters an old man, played brilliantly by veteran actor Alan Breck, who is similarly lost.

(Note - Kevin Gillette is Dallas correspondent for Fringe Report. This article was published 4 July 08)

The protagonists, played by Alan Breck and Joanna Alexander, in this psychologically complex film offer exceptional performances that draw the viewer into the heart of the story. Carefully crafted to increase dramatic tension, filmmaker Mike Rymer drives the story to reveal their troubled spirits. Its a film that will be admired by those who love solid character development, crisp and effective editing, and excellent cinematography and sound. It deserves wide distribution.

    About me

I am a very experienced actor In the 1960s, I worked for years in repertory theatre (mainly Scotland) and did regular TV work for both BBC TV and ITV Scotland. After moving my base to London in 1967, I worked in TV and films. I also made many commercials for TV and cinema, corporate and training films. My downfall was that I was seduced into a lucrative modelling career; lots of money and far too many parties! I can't remember what happened in the 70s but I think that I had great time..... Now my wives and children have all gone (and my good looks), I have resumed my full-time acting career as a versatile and interesting character actor
