    About me

Hi my name is Alan Kenny and I am originally from Scotland and I have always been interested in acting. I regard myself as a flexible character actor who has the ability to remould myself for the needs of a role ranging from playing the comedic Mad Doctor in the Duchess of Malfi to being cast as Doc Peirce in Calamity Jane. Other productions which I have appeared in include musicals such as "My Fair Lady" and "Calamity Jane." I have been cast in plays and improvised theatre across London's Theatre network.

Other interesting dramatic roles have included playing the father of a prostitute in a play called "Daddy's Girl" at the Clerkenwell Theatre where I brought to life the seedy, cancer stricken, father. Additionally I successfully took on 3 roles in one play whilst performing as the magician Prospero, Trinculo the drunken Jester and Sycorax the evil witch in an improvised production of Shakespeare's "The Tempest" at the Diorama Theatre.

In more recent times I was cast in Macbeth at the Theatro Technis Camden North London. Also in 2016 I was cast in the role of a Defence Counsel in the television series "Murder Maps".

Apart from being in productions I also continue to train and have attend classes at the Anna Scher Theatre in Islington and regularly acted and wrote material for its play festivals. Have a BTEC National Award in Acting and attended acting classes at the City Lit Institute in Holborn London. In recent years I have been attending an acting workshop called The Acting Gymnasium. I have been cast in several of their plays playing the part of Chebutykin in Chekov's "Three Sisters." I was also cast in their production of "Midsummer's Night Dream" cast in the role of Theasus Duke Of Athens and in November 2019 the role of King Duncan in "Macbeth".

As you will see from my CV, I have experience in drama, improvisation, pantomime and musicals. I am very flexible time wise and can attend auditions at short notice.
