About me

I am a professional actor and drama facilitator having studied my degree in Performing Arts at Mountview Theatre School and my BTEC in Performing Arts at Blackpool and the Fylde College. I have been lucky enough to build a performing career that has included stage, television, commercial and film work. Alongside this I have also built 10 years of teaching experience Performing Arts training is essential as we move forwards and it can bring about positive social change bridging the gap between communities inspiring performers, learners and audiences alike. In my current position as Senior Performing Arts Tutor at the Baked Bean Company, I teach drama for training actors with learning disabilities. I work with two groups across the curriculum, The Baked Bean Theatre Company, our flagship theatre company who specialize in public performances of self-devised work developed during the workshop and rehearsal process. With this group I have had the opportunity to create a curriculum timetable which will lead to the delivery of devised theatre productions for public performance. This is achieved through drama workshops and training which gives the students key essential performance techniques and skills, I place a strong focus on improvisation to achieve our goals and create and develop our story through this. Currently with this performance group I am also working on rehearsing and developing scripted monologues to showcase and audition technique for stage and screen. I am also directing a performance called April Fool which we will be performing at Putney Arts Centre before touring, engaging the audience on the topic of bullying and we have just finished devising a performance called Omelette, a comedy about a group of actors with learning disabilities auditioning for a production of Hamlet. I have also been involved with creating a performance called ‘Health Bites’ which is an interactive piece which we performed recently to the student nurses and doctors at Kings College and we will be reprised this performance early 2022 at Kingston University for more NHS trainees. The piece is an innovative and interactive approach to help trainee staff develop the skills needed to work with people with learning disabilities.
