About me
I have always been a creative person who loves transforming herself into different worlds, minds, situations, and even lives. From a very young age, I have always been a keen performer. I started my performing journey aged 4 performing in local pantomimes, and caught the well renowned "theatre bug" sraight away. These performances carried on well into my late teens, by which point I was also taking part in other local am dram productions of plays and musicals throughout the year. Aged 9, I started attending a Stagecoach Theatre Arts School every Saturday taking classes in singing, acting and dance. It is here that I stayed until the maximum possible age of 16, in those years appearing as a principal character in numerous musicals, as well as joining the Stagecoach dance troup, and even becoming a teacher to the youngest students aged 4-6.
By this point in my life, I knew that performing part time was never going to be enough. It had to become my career. So, I auditioned for a place at the prestigious BRIT School and, after being accepted, spent 2 years there training with professionals in Musical Theatre. Along the way I realised that as much as I loved musical theatre, acting was where I really shon, and felt most like myself. Following this, I spent 3 years studying Drama and Film Studies at the University of Sussex, learning further skills such as how to deeply interpret a text, experiencing other, less conventional, ways of performing, and the relationship between film and performing. Film studies in partiular gave me a much greater understanding of acting on film, and how many other elements go into filming a performance.
