About me
My name is Charles Tighe and I have been taking part in stage productions since I was 4. I have been training on a level 3 acting for screen extended diploma course, for the past 2 years. This course has covered character development, through hitting marks and other subtle techniques required to create a believable on-screen performance. I've found my levels of immersion have improved dramatically. My acting technique has become more truthful and works more fluidly with continuity and hitting marks. I would love to take up a career in film, as I believe I can truthfully translate a script into a performance.Since completion, I have worked as an extra since May 2020.
My theatre work consists of, a Guinness world record performance as Gaston in ‘Beauty and the beast’. I performed in a troupe representing Stagecoach Dorking at the Shaftesbury Theatre, for a one-night collaborative show, alongside other stage schools from across the UK. I appeared in the ensemble for the ‘Joseph and his amazing technicolor dream coat’ Tour. I have performed in lots of local pantomimes and also school theatre productions. I was cast as Michael in ‘Peter Pan’ for pantomime, where I received full harness training. I have additionally participated in scratch nights and monologue slams at the Forge theatre in Nescot college.
I have been fortunate enough to have had some brilliant work experience placements, one of them being alongside editors for BBC and ITV at The Farm Group post-production studios in London. Here I got a glimpse at the other side of the creative process and how a project is pieced together. I have also spent a couple of days observing alongside BBC director Joss Agnew, getting an insight into how a set is created, and then how all members of the teamwork together to bring the scene to life.
Additional skills:
I am a brown belt in Sama Karate and trained with nunchucks.
I am a grade 4 tap dancer. Grade 2 in ballet and modern.
I can also ride a bike no-handed.
