    Additional Skills

I have covered a lot of different skills throughout my ongoing acting training, which I am excited and keen to take forward, nurture, and bring to each performance in whatever capacity is required. Along with the fundamental modules including, movement, voice, screen, and text analysis, I also have experience with:

Contemporary and Modern Dance - I studied notable figures such as Mary Wigman, Rudolf Laban, and Tatsumi Hijikata (Butoh) and delivered dynamic, expressive, and avant-garde choreography. Being an actor means knowing how to utilize your body, being able to connect with it, and being aware of the space around it, so I find doing yoga regularly allows me to work on that connection with the extra bonus being its mental and physical health benefits.

Stage Combat - I have covered the basics with Bethan Clark from the British Academy of Dramatic Combat, in how to create the illusion of a fight using angles, distance, sound effects (The Knap), reverse control, and how all these tactics can be shaped and interwoven with dialogue.

Improvisation - I studied dramatic improvisation for 6 weeks, learning the importance of setting a scene, establishing a relationship, and having clear objectives. I also watch a lot of comedy improv at The Free Association so I understand a Harold format, partook in a taster class, and had a 1-1 with a teacher in learning the art of 2prov.

Stand-up - Last year I performed a 5 minute stand-up for the Rising Star Comedy Club.

Shakespeare - I have taken two modules to understand how to sink one's teeth into a Shakespeare script and deliver it in a way that is coherent and engaging for an audience. At university, I got to be a part of our theatre society's performance of Much Ado About Nothing. As always with Shakespeare, it's just such a joy to perform, and deciphering the language is a rewarding challenge.
