About me
Fernanda Mandagará is a Brazilian actor, playwright and producer based in London. She holds a BA from Acting (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil) and a MA Acting International from East15, University of Essex. She also did a residency at Globe Theatre, and a Directing Residence at StoneCrabs Company. Currently she is part of Cabaret & Drag Lab at Soho Theatre.From 2003 to 2014 Fernanda worked as a professional actor in Brazil, where she is one of the founders of Teatro Enlatado Company, based in São Paulo. During this period she was in many professional theatre productions as actor and producer, working with important Brazilian theatre companies. She was also performing in several short films and commercials in Brazil.
In London, her credits as actor and performer include: A 24-Decade History of Popular Music (Barbican), Brazil Diversity (Theatre 503), I Walk in your Words (RichMix and Omnibus Theatre); Turmoil (Cervantes Theatre, Wandsworth Festival, Courtyard Theatre); For Elise (Embassy of Brazil in London), among others. She directed the show The End of All Miracles (Albany) and devised the solo The Tropicalia Island (Etcetera Theatre, ZOO Southside Edinburgh Fringe and Royal Vauxhall Tavern). She is the winner of the Press Award UK 2017 (award given by the Brazilian International Press for her productions in UK) category Theatre Producer.
She also worked as Venue Stage Manager at Vault Festival 2018, Balance, Graduate Fashion Week and London Coffee Festival.
Currently she is performing in the show Where we Began, by Rosie MacPherson, produced by the UK’s first Theatre Company of Sanctuary, Stand and Be Counted; commissioned by Camden People's Theatre, Theatre in the Mill and CAST and supported by Arts Council England. Where We Began is a winner of Bridging The Gap and will tour nationally this Autumn.
