Ian spent 2014 and 2015 appearing in the National Theatre’s production of War Horse at the New London Theatre performing the dual roles of Sergeant Allan and Soldat Manfred.2013 saw Ian appearing alongside Dame Helen Mirren in The Audience at the Gielgud Theatre playing the roles of Edward Heath, Wilson's Detective and the Policeman.
During 2012 Ian starred in the National Tour of hit One-man Show Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus based on the multi-million selling book by John Gray.
