John was born in Bolton, Greater Manchester in the UK in 1948. Over the past 50 years he has worked at Hotels and Holiday Camps, worked as a photographer, travelled the world as a Radio Officer, repaired computers, worked as a Technical Customer Support Manager and an IT Consultant with Hewlett-Packard. John returned to acting in 1989 and after drama training at Bolton College in 1990 he acted in over 50 theatre productions. He has also directed productions during this period. He has performed in an array of dramatic and comedy roles in productions ranging from Ayckbourn to Shakespeare and has been trained in The Meisner Technique of acting. Greater Manchester Drama Federation awards include Best Actor (for Edward in Someone Who'll Watch Over Me) and Best Director (for The Rise and Fall of Little Voice)

Television credits include work for the BBC, Granada and Channel 4 and I have been in the BBC3 series BURN IT, HOLLYOAKS, NO ANGELS (Channel 4), CORONATION STREET, MINE ALL MINE (ITV1), JANE HALL the TV Pilot BACK IN 2 MINS and as Naveen Chakrabati in YEARS AND YEARS. John appeared as the Russian Ambassador Krushkin in the feature film THE LERMONTOV EDITION, as Arab Diplomat Husseini in the 2007 Feature Film O JERUSALEM, as Delivery Dan in the 2011 feature film BAR STEWARDS and as The Golf Club Manager in the recently released feature film DOWNHILL. TV Commercials include the Amazon 2015 Xmas advert, TOURISM IRELAND, POT NOODLE, THE BILL'S CO-OP BANK IDENTS and THE BBC MEDIA LITERACY 2011 CAMPAIGN. Since 2005 John has been involved in about 100 Corporate and Roleplay assignments in the fields of Safeguarding Adults, Mental Health Recovery, Mental Capacity Act Training, Infection Control (NHS), GP Assessment, patient simulation and various Court Room scenarios. The Corporate list is not complete as the scenarios have been repeated several times.
