About me
I began performing in Community Theatre, The Drum, at Plymouth's Theatre Royal, with lead roles in Scenes from an Execution as Galactia (directed by Nikolas Partridge) and Ros in, All Your Gold, a specially commissioned piece of theatre by the playwright Miriam Battye. I began the journey into professional acting a little later in life.I am currently acting in my first feature length film, The Ballad of Lucy Sands, as Esther Raey, directed by Steve Baldwin and filmed on location in Devon, Cornwall, and Cumbria.
I love the spoken voice and have performed in three BBC Radio Devon dramas and comedies, including Hallsands, as Clara Trout, The Day will Come (chorus singer) and Who Let the Dogs Out? as Willow.
I am currently training part time with The Wheel, a professional Touring and Theatre Company based in Plymouth. I have had master classes in voice, and film/ screen acting led by Marina Caldarone and Doug Rollins. I studied Classical Theatre and Shakespeare with Charlotte Storey at TR2. This summer I completed a Shakespearen acting course at the Bristol Old Vic Training School.
In addition to professional, interactive murder mysteries, I relish historical performance work and played Morgana La Fey this summer at Tintagel Castle for Griffin Historical. I love immersive theatre and story telling, and this role was a joy to perform.
I am expanding my skills as a story teller and drama workshop facilitator for participants of all aqes .I enjoy bringing my drama skills into the local community and working with children and families.
I am an Equity member and always looking for new challenges and projects as a performer.
Additional skills:
Makaton sign language. Car driver. Enjoys working with children and animals.
Additional information:
I have a primary teaching and adult education background and worked as a project leader for a local charity, Stairways, supporting adults with differing learning needs.Drama and creativity was central to that work. I am currently working with The Dove Project which supports clients with additional needs in the local community. I have trained as a volunteer with Homestart, a national charity that befriends and sign posts young families.
