Highlights
-
I have been dancing since the age of 13 in a variety of styles: Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Cheer, Street dance, Ballroom and Latin American. I have been involved in dancing in a number of musicals and performances throughout my three year training programme and wish to continue this onto a professional level. I have won competitions in Latin American and choreography and have passed a number exams for all of the styles. The main focus in the last few years has been dances involved in shows, after putting the focal study on dancers like Matthew Ball, Bob Fosse and Jerome Robbins, my knowledge has grown. From Fosse's attention to finite choreographically-particular detail to Robbins storytelling through dance and movement has given me a some real versatility in my training and performance, giving me the skills to put this into any professional work.
-
I have been involved in several modelling photo shoots for training professional photographers. With dance and acting ability i am able to follow instructions and hold my posture correctly. I have done beauty and fashion shoots dressing up as many different roles - lion, ballerina, school teenager. Using a range of different props for beauty shoots, such as buttons, masks, ribbon, paint, glasses, cigarettes and many more. As an actor, I have been able to use my skills to create a convincing character in front of the camera.
-
Acting has been a huge passion of mine since I was 13 and have performed in a number of different genres, characters and performance spaces over the years. I have played the role of Donna in the musical "City of Angels" and Maria Feletti in the play "Accidental death of an Anarchist" among many other small and ensemble numbers in musicals such as Spring Awakening, Oklahoma! Company and The Threepenny Opera, all performed at the Theatre in the Blackpool School of Creative Arts and Alexi Darling and an ensemble member in the production of Rent in the Manchester Dancehouse theatre. I have also been a paid supporting artist for the channel 4 Company Pictures drama 'Skins' and an extra for a channel 4 Grand National commercial. In summer 2013, I was a summer camp dance, drama and music counselor in Connecticut, USA. My duties were to teach the children in these specific art forms and work together as a group to prepare for a weekly performance for parents on the last day of camp each week. I also worked at a local performing arts school teaching Musical Theatre to kids aged 4-17. My teaching has given me confidence and helped me establish and develop my own performance skills. I am currently training with act up north theatre workshops, taking weekly classes in acting technique for both stage and television.

Having trained in Musical Theatre, I have had a heavy influence of singing technique in my training. Harmonies, improving singing range, acting through song, sight reading and Music theory are all aspects that were focused on during the degree. Having been involved in a number of musicals, for example, Spring awakening, Rent, Company, The Gondoliers and City of Angels, I have had lots of singing experience in front of a live audience. I have also been involved in Musical theatre, pop and rock cabaret evenings with solo and group singing.
