About me
My name is Reza Diako. I am an Actor from Mountview Drama School London.
I am of Iranian origin, but I was born in Switzerland and lived in Austria before moving to London eleven years ago. Due to my multicultural heritage and psychology background, I love working on projects involving complex characters from different parts of the world. I am particularly interested in sharing truthful stories about the private and political struggles of individuals, as I have gone through a fair share of both myself. Over the last years, I have worked on feature films, TV and theatre projects in London, Greece, and Edinburgh, tackling topics such as homelessness, addiction, political warfare, trauma, religion, poverty, identity and parenthood.
I can speak fluent English in my natural American and also in a London English Accent, fluent Persian, intermediate Spanish, and I am also intending to learn French as I am fascinated by the prospect of working within the richly avant-garde world of French cinema. I am also a classically trained singer, I play piano at the equivalent of grade 8, and write my own songs and poems.
My upcoming project includes the role of Shahin in Cineflix owned TV series, Tehran. Another exciting project is my lead role as Misha in a 2020 releasing feature film, Tummyache, an independent film with themes including LGBTQ and addiction, by a Russian writer and director, Sasha Dulerayn. Other independent feature work includes, A Midsummer Night's Scheme, where I play the lead protagonist, Liam, in a coming of age film about siblings going through family neglect and financial difficulties; and Monochrome Man, where I play a Gothic gang member in Bristol. Further coming projects include Nina's Tale, a short film about sexual assault, and One-life Stand, a comedy drama short about the quirks and struggles of modern-day dating.
