About me
Please message me directly on instagram @rubygascoyne for casting opportunities! From the day I was born I have constantly been surrounded by the Arts. Being the daughter of two jazz musicians, music has always been a huge influence in my life.
I achieved Grade 6 Alto Saxophone at age 12 and have been involved in many music related projects such as appearing as first saxophonist in Ronnie Scott's Big Band in The Day and being mentored by incredible Jazz musicians like Julien Joseph and Micheal Garrick. I feel my background in music has given me a great sense of musicality and appreciation of different cultures.
I always knew from an early age that I would fulfil a career in the creative industry therefore in 2016, I auditioned and was accepted at The BRIT School of Performing Arts and Technology to study Musical Theatre. During my time at BRIT I have learnt to be professional and confident while embracing my individuality and developing my technique in acting, singing and dancing. But above all BRIT has taught me the importance of simply being respectful and kind to others.
in 2021 I completed an Acting foundation course at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) and are currently on the Actor Musician degree course at Mountview.
Alongside Acting I am a singer and musician. I play Alto Saxophone, Bass (electric and double), Guitar, Piano and Drums.
Last year I was asked to be a guest singer with Darius Brubeck, song of Jazz legend Dave Brubeck, and his quartet followed by a guest appearance with the iconic Jazz Singer Liane Carol at the London Jazz Festival.
I have always been a very career driven person and I constantly strive to improve. I have been represented D&B Management for the past 4 years and are always volunteering for new projects.
