About me
I first performed in The Vagina Monologues in Liverpool and Coventry Arts Centre. That was about 12 years ago.I've had a lot of life challenges since then and my self confidence has rocketed. That's sparked off a strong passion and wanting to perform within me. I started to act again 12 months ago.
Since then I have performed in The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, playing a number of roles in a Neil Bartlett production called 24 Hours of Peace. This was live to a theatre audience and via the radio.
I have also played minor roles in The Stranger (Netflix); a solicitor on Coronation Street and a zombie in The Feed (Amazon Prime).
I have had great fun along the way. As my confidence grows, my performances are getting stronger. This is a really exciting time for me.
I have a real hunger to perform more in theatre, TV and radio.
Recently I played an Accident and Emergency Registrar for a TV comedy called 'This is going to Hurt'.
I have played a parent in a BBC / Netflix Thriller called 'Get Even'.
I am versatile in that I can play professional or comedic roles. I am able to convince people of my accent when I speak in various dialects such as Liverpudlian, Scottish, Irish, Arabic, Indian or African. The American accent is one I am particularly fond of doing.
Most recently I was excited to play a dancer in the BBC adaptation of 'Everything I know about Love'. I like a challenge, the dancing was a little out of my comfort zone but the production team seemed happy!
Additional skills:
I take regular dance classes in Salsa, Irish dancing and I am starting with Flamenco soon.
I can play the acoustic guitar.
I love writing and performing Comedy sketches.
Additional information:
I have trained as a barrister. I have almost 10 years experience of preparing cases for trial and assisting Queen's Counsel. Areas of law I have worked in are Criminal defence, Civil Litigation, Family Law and Immigration.
I can speak basic Arabic.
I am mixed race (black/white). My mum is English and dad is Libyan.
