    About me

Sarah Lamptey is one of a kind. Not only is she a music-mad, travel-crazy, eco-friendly vegan, she’s also a blimmin’ gorgeous and talented entertainment presenter. She spent 2017 developing more of her original ideas into documentaries, presenting for Innovate UK (the government department of innovation), continuing her freelance national radio work and was given her own weekly show on Panda Radio, on Thursdays at 8-9pm. She was a lead in a comedy pilot and rounded off the year by producing and presenting content for new music app, Melobee Music. So far, 2018 has meant much more commercial acting, compering for the Southbank Centre, working on her radio show, developing her original doc ideas and campaigning to bring free public showers to London to enhance the lives of those who sleep rough. Who knows what the rest of 2018 will bring?!

Some of her past experience, you ask? 2016 flew by in a haze of radio work (chatting summer music and Christmas music across the country – live!), documentary development, commercial modelling, live hosting for MixMag, Smirnoff Sound Collective and Corona events. The year before, after years solely in television, 2015 saw Sarah return to radio, where she started out. As Alba’s music expert she discussed the power of feel-good music live on the radio, on stations across the UK. She also had the pleasure of hosting at Southbank Centre’s Women of The World, created to celebrate women, which Sarah cites as one of the highlights of her year. Another would be her compering for Strive Fest at Royal Festival Hall and mentoring young adults to present alongside her onstage.

2014 was a fun year for Sarah. She pitched, produced and presented the television series Back To The Future Sounds for London Live, hosted the online show, Nobu Unplugged, compered for music events at Nobu Berkeley Street, The Arts Club and The Ritzy, presented backstage from Reading Festival for SUB TV interviewing artists including Papa Roach (teenage Sarah weeps), The Klaxons, and You Me At Six and even starred in her first short film in Italy, released in 2015. Aside from her back to back filming commitments, Sarah was commissioned to write articles for national publications including The Independent and secured modelling campaigns for various brands. Previously in 2013, Sarah presented a range of festival coverage for Virgin TV Music-On-Demand interviewing both new and established musicians.

Her radio work took her to Ghana in 2009, where she presented for a radio station and was widely mocked for her dodgy pronunciation efforts! In the same year, back where she grew up in Surrey, she wrote and read live travel and information links for Radio Jackie 107.8fm. In 2011, she began compering and interviewing for the Station Sessions, a weekly evening music event commissioned by St Pancras International.

Before her entertainment career took off, Sarah studied English at Royal Holloway university which cemented her love of writing and she now produces creative and journalistic pieces, most recently seen in Grazia magazine.

In her spare time, Sarah volunteers for a few charities including a homeless charity and a home for ex-service men and women, which in 2012 led her to setting up her own community interest company geared towards promoting positivity amongst young people in London.

Sarah is a true professional, hardworking, a team player who completely lights up a room and even more so on camera. And…. if you want to touch her hair, go for it. No charge!
