About me
I am an experienced drama professional with a background in education and youth work who is passionate about providing exciting and engaging experiences.I'm extremely adapt at involving all ages and abilities in activities.
I possesses the skills and level headedness necessary to be successful in a fast moving and busy environment. An extremely reliable and committed individual who appreciates the dedication and hard work required to maintain levels of excellence in order to keep visitors returning.
I have recently completed my eleventh season at Alnwick Castle, as Performance supervisor I was one of a team of three supervisors responsible for the well-being and motivation of a team of individuals, whose primary concern was with delivering outstanding customer service and entertainment.
Over the past three years at Alnwick I have also been responsible for the development and production of the internal performances, including the two person plays which ran throughout the summer holidays, the Halloween After Dark performance tours and the Percy Past History Trails. I have worked very closely with James Boyd and the rest of the Castles internal performance team and I am particularly proud of the work that we have produced. In the past I have greatly contributed to the Lost Cellars scare attraction and the ever popular Broomstick lessons.
My working relationship with Macnaugton & McGregor Business management and training company has continued this year. I have spent the past year intermittently delivering Behavioural Safety Courses to Honda, JCB and Balfour Beatty and Delivering communication courses and seminars to the British Antarctic Survey Team and Newcastle University.
Acting experience:
I have been a professional actor for many years and have performed both on stage and screen. Some of my biggest credits include; acting opposite Martin Shaw in George Gently, Scrooge in a Christmas Carol for Theatre Space North East, Frank in Educating Rita for Ion productions, Derek Shoemaker in the Elves and the Shoemaker at the Customs House theatre and most recently Cameron Utterson in NTC's production of Jekyll and Hyde.
In addition, for the past six years I have been Santa Clause. Including 3 years as the Metrocentre Santa (including having the honor of switching on the Christmas lights on) and the past 2 years as Santa for Fenwick's 'Santa on the Roof" Grotto.
Additional skills:
I consider myself to be an excellent communicator who builds strong and successful relationships with audiences and colleagues.
Additional information:
In addition I have spent many years working with challenging individuals in a number of areas including Youth Work and Theatre in Education. I work extremely well with children and young adults and can motivate them to achieve the best that they can. Also my years of experience have given me the skills to build good relationships, communicate effectively and engage empathetically with people and recognise the many different barriers to confidence and development that many people face.
