About me
My early professional experience was gained as a full time chorister at Westminster Cathedral, singing at public events, concerts, BBC proms, recordings and broadcast. At high school I performed leads (including Angelo in Measure for Measure) and comic character roles (Dafydd ap Llwellyn in Ayckbourn's 'A Chorus of Disapproval' and Joxer Daly in 'Juno and the Paycock'). At 18 I produced a professional production of The Importance of Being Earnest, performing the role of Algie.
Completing a BA degree in Drama and Literature I studied all aspects of performance and theory, as well as performing in devised studio pieces and larger productions.
With experience as a filmmaker, I have returned to performance over the last two years, and seek especially regional theatre and film roles that make full use of my strong natural and character performance.
Additional skills:
I am a highly skilled vocal performer, with a Tenor voice Grade 8 (ABRSM). I have advanced musical training and have performed professionally since an early age. I am equally comfortable with bel canto classical repertoire, and with contemporary forms (blues, jazz, rock etc.)
I play Trombone also to Grade 8 standard, and am capable in jazz improvisation, blues, soul etc.
I have a very strong ear for accents and character traits and can reproduce most UK and foreign accents easily. I have strong physical comic performance and can embody colourful character roles.
I am able to ride a motorcycle, though currently unlicensed. I have driven a car in various short film productions and am comfortable with in-car camera driving situations.
