About me
Singer:I originally come from the village of Oakworth, West Yorkshire (most famous for its contribution to the 1970's film 'The Railway Children'). I developed an interest for performing at first school and spent several years as a member of Debut Theatre School in Shipley, training in Drama, Singing and Dance.
During my time at Debut, I joined several amateur dramatic groups, performing in roles including:
· Billy - Billy the musical
· Scarecrow - The Wizard of Oz
· Freddy Einsford-Hill - My Fair Lady
· Ringmaster - Barnum
· Fatty Arbuckle - Mack and Mable
I have also made appearances on television for ITV in shows such as My Parents are Aliens, Emmerdale and played the role of Browny in series 3 of the children's show Adams Family Tree.
After taking my GCSE's, I decided to study a BTEC in Performing arts at Park Lane College in Leeds, then went on to achieve a First Class Honors Degree in Performance at the GSA Conservatoire in Guildford, during which time I performed regularly with the GSA Singers, took the lead role Anatoly Sergievsky in Chess, and had the honour of performing for HM Queen Eli zabeth at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Remembrance day festival.
At the end of my final year, I was part of the onstage ensemble in Sweeney Todd at the Royal Festival Hall with Bryn Terfel, Maria Friedman, Philip Quast and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
In December 2007, I became part of the original cast of Stephen Fry's Cinderella at the London Old Vic, playing the roles of Jack and Marigold the cow and understudying the ugly sister 'Dolce'.
Les Miserables marked my official West End Debut, and I was thrilled at 23 years old to be covering the role Jean Valjean and Bamatabois.
Since Joining the cast of Les Miserables in 2008 I has performed the role of Jean Valjean and Bamatabois numerous times and was delighted to perform the concert version of the show with the removed cast and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at Osborne House open air theatre on the Isle of Wight.
In 2009 I was asked to be understudy to both Scott Davies and Daniel Boys for the touring company The Showbiz Pops Orchestra for their show The Music Of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Last year I was a part of the onstage ensemble for the Les Miserables 25th anniversary concert at the O2 arena, before finally deciding to leave Les miserable in June 2011.
I am now looking forward to joining the cast of The Phantom of the opera in London as swing, understudy to the Auctioneer, Monsieur Reyer and in house understudy to the Phantom.

Additional information:
I have been very lucky in my life to have had a wide range of what I consider to be life enhancing experiences and opportunities ranging from a successful sporting career in my youth, as a volunteer care worker to mentally handicapped adults, to a professional career in theatre and the media, massage therapy, becoming a husband and hopefully soon a father.
From a very early age I enjoyed being part of a team, joining a number of local sports clubs including Football, Badminton, Swimming, Cricket and Athletics. Badminton, cricket and Athletics eventually became my sports of choice, enjoying success as district champion in badminton and being selected to play at county level for Yorkshire under-17's, as vice captain of the local district championship winning under-17's cricket team, and as a member of national touring athletic team the Bingley Harriers throwing the Javelin.
From the age of 8, I was also a member of the local scout troop for almost 10 years, enjoying travelling the country to participate in International celebrations, adventure weekends and competing in and constantly winning survival weekends and cookery competitions. This was a wonderful time of my life developing social, problem solving and team building skills which I would take into later life.
My deepest passion has to be the theatre, from the age of 8 I began performing in school Christmas shows and at middle school in full scale productions. As my interest and love for the stage grew, I joined local theatre groups and theatre schools to develop further. At the age of 16, I knew theatre would be my life so I decided to train professionally, obtaining a BTEC National Diploma in performing arts, then on to a BA HONS degree in musical theatre performance.
I have always been very hands on as a person with a great desire to learn new skills and loving the challenge it provides. I enjoy DIY, arts and crafts, carpentry and gardening but also have huge passion cookery, for films, music, and reading thriller novels, and more recently have began to enjoy fishing and playing golf. I consider myself to be a very honest, hardworking individual who will always give 100% to every task given to me. I am a driven as an individual but also love working as part of a team; I am computer literate and am able to use photocopiers, fax machines and printer/scanners.
