About me
I first entered the world of stage acting in 1998 with the Derby playhouse community play and realised I had found something I both enjoyed immensely and was good at. 3 years of community shows led me to get involved with the the Asian art exchange which was also based at the theatre where I performed in several shows. The Asian art Exchange was then re launched as B.A.d (Black and Asian development) and i acted and assisted in directing Taxi Jam which proved to be a massive success for the company. From there I went onto to writing and directing my own play which premiered at the Edinburgh fringe festival and finished with a tour of Derbyshire. We revisited Edinburgh with a play that I acted in a couple of years later which was bought back to Derby and performed to a sellout crowd at the Guildhall.Naturally I went onto to film and was cast in Triads Yardies and Onionbhajees which premiered at the Cannes film festival. I then went onto write/direct and produce my own film which was shown at the Derby LIFT festival.
I have since appeared in several short films since and wrote and directed a play for Surtal Arts which was performed at the Derby Guildhall.
Most recently I was cast as the lead in Vengeance by Derby Light films which is currently in post edit.
Having a family and a full time job had forced me to take a break from my love of the arts and what was once seen as a career choice quickly played second fiddle to my full time occupation as a Logistics specialist with Rolls Royce.
Today I am at the stage of my life where I am hoping to rekindle that love affair with the arts and looking for exciting projects and productions to get involved in.
