Tony studied Drama and Performing Arts at Cheadle & Marple 6th Form College. During his time in the RAF he studied with the London College of Music (LCM), achieving distinction in Grade 8. He also furthered his studies and achieved a Diploma in Musical Theatre Performance from the LCM.
Tony thoroughly enjoys character acting, which is why he enjoys being involved in or watching Musical Theatre, however relishes the challenge of character acting within "straight" plays too.
Tony has learnt from many vocal coaches over numerous years, most notably the head vocal coach at the Royal Northern College of Music and most recently with Per Bristow, founder of the Bristow Voice Method and the Singing Zone. He attended Per's conferences in London and Berlin, where he also got the chance to perform and, most importantly, learn on stage and has made many connections and friendships.
About me
Tony Owens from Buxton in Derbyshire, has spent his whole life fascinated with the arts, from singing with his beloved Kinder Choirs (for which he is now a patron) since the age of 9 to performing in world premiers.
He has not had the stereotypical route into the business. After leaving school he wanted to challenge himself in a way he hadn't known before and decided to join the Royal Air Force, which he had a highly successful 10 year career in, however he still kept the fire for performing.
He would often work 40+ hours a week, whilst simultaneously taking his own private vocal, acting and dance lessons; rehearsals & performing in shows and giving private vocal coaching.
Now he has returned to his love, full time and completely dedicated to performing and coaching professionally.
