About me
I am a performer, writer, producer and researcher with extensive experience in radio and television production work from a research-presenting-producing perspective, as well as in theatre. I have had an upbringing in music, including musical theatre, have a light tenor voice, and am comfortable in many types of performance and production genres. Recent work includes extra roles in ITV's Autopsy series (Patty Duke); commercials for Yamaha Instruments, Subway sandwich chain; film extra roles for Warner Bros Voltaire (Fantastic Beasts); period thriller Once Upon A Time in London, multimedia franchise Sharknado, spy thrillers Final Score and Kingsman - the Golden Circle and legal drama The Children's Act.I also have a background in freelance feature writing and broadcast production for the BBC, community radio and the monthly press. I have a particular interest and passion for education, public affairs and the arts underpinned by a training in history, politics and law.
I have presented on community radio Uckfield FM and helped develop the wider output of the station, including development of an arts programme. I contributed reviews and features to the ‘Hearing Times’, a publication aimed at raising awareness of deaf and hard of hearing issues.
I have had experience of reporting the impact of legislation when I combined Parliamentary research work with disability affairs radio journalism. This involved researching, producing and presenting a half hour weekly programme on commercial radio with interviewees such as the late Jack Ashley and Tanni-Grey Thompson. I have extensive experience in writing briefing notes, memos and reports.
I worked at the BBC for news and current affairs (Newsnight, Hardtalk, Marr) and currently a freelancer with stints at BBC School Report, BBC Radio Kent and at the World Tonight on BBC Radio Four. I was involved with the BBC Elections team for General Election 2015 at Elstree Studios.
