My skills include grades and qualifications in singing (Grade 8) as well as various dance forms (contemporary, commercial, ballroom). As well as this, I have training in camera acting for both TV and Film, as well as extensive work on stage and devising pieces.
I also have training in choreography and devised movement, which is further refined during my university studies as well as private classes that I teach. As well as movement, I have six 1st-class stage combat qualifications with fighting director Ian McCracken, under APC, and extensive training in clowning, mask, and puppertry, working with Sally Cook, co-founder of the Tressle mask.
About me
I'm Steve Banks, originally from Dover, Kent, now living in Northampton. After leaving performing arts sixth form studies, I completed my classical acting training at The University of Northampton, graduating with a 1:1 BA (Hons) Acting degree in July 2015, and winning the Martin Lawrence Best Actor Award for 2015.
I have a visceral enthusiasm for what I want to do, and what I want to achieve. Since graduating, I have worked continually as a freelance actor, whilst still devoting spare time to writing and creating my own work, particularly in sketch humour and musical pieces. I'm thoroughly driven by what I do and what I can become, and I want to keep on growing, learning, and improving.
