About me

I am an experienced theatre professional with a great love of the art form. I have many years of experience of touring and in house theatre across a range of styles. I have enjoyed rural touring and have worked a lot in non-traditional spaces, as well as arts centres and theatres. I am completely at home with all aspects of sound, lighting and AV operation and worked within all levels of stage and company management.

Alongside my freelance work in technical theatre and stage management I have worked for many years within contemporary circus, as an aerial performer, rigger, designer and producer, running my own company Exponential, and acting as an aerial consultant for other companies including Tangled Feet, Slung Low, and the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

I like facing the sort of new day to day challenges that any theatre production can throw up. As a performer and a creator myself, I understand all the processes that go into making a piece and find that this is helpful inter-company communication and venue liaison. I enjoy the implementation of creative systems to make the workload more efficient, and although I love working as part of a team, I can also manage my time independently and take a strong lead when the situation requires it.

I also have lots of making skills and am confident with construction and repairs on set and technical equipment. I am also confident and experienced in driving large vehicles and hold a C1 licence which allows me to drive vehicles of up to 7.5 tons.

I enjoy working with people, I am friendly and I love making things happen. I have lots of skills and energy that I bring to the projects I work on, but also feel that there is always something to be learned on every job.

I have a keen interest in many creative artforms such as photography, film and music and frequently include all of these within my own creative practice. I enjoy engaging with new people and new situations, and hope to bring my energy and enthusiasm into every working situation.
