About me
I originally trained as an actor, graduating from Mountview in 1997 and, having worked in this field for several years, moved into teaching, training and directing young actors. Over the past nineteen years, I have worked primarily as a youth theatre director, for organisations including including Winchester Theatre Royal, Camberley Theatre, NT, Haymarket Theatre, Basingstoke, Proteus Theatre (actor, facilitator, director) and Surrey Youth Theatre. During this time, I have directed over 27 main house and studio productions (plays and musicals) with variable cast sizes. I have also devised and facilitated numerous workshops both in school and theatre settings since 2001. I'm also an NYT Associate.As a mainstream director, I am currently developing two new original projects, including a musical and am always looking for opportunities to connect with industry professionals. I'm a member of The Young Vic Directors network, JMK Directors network and SDUK.
Additional skills:
I have experience working with adults and children with Special Needs and adult theatre groups. I have also worked as a drama facilitator and coach, and have had broad experience training actors of all ages, including professionals, across all areas of performance. My area of expertise is in acting in performance, text and musicals with a passion for new musical theatre.
