About me
I am a confident and kind individual, an accomplished performer and a passionate teacher. I have a Master's degree from the Royal Academy of Music, and a career as an actor in plays and musicals on the West End. I have always thrived working in an environment with young people; much of my free time in the West End was devoted to running and taking part in workshops for visiting schools, as well as teaching 'acting through song' classes at an industry-level college in the South East of England. I have a deep interest in theatre of all types, and believe I am the right person to encourage and nurse students to their full potential in an arts-motivated environment. I believe that theatre is not only a wonderful cultural indulgence, but also a practical educational tool for developing students' confidence and empathy. Performing in West End productions such as Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera, I am primarily a fan of theatre, and it is a delight to share with and encourage this in students. Acting, singing and dance provide in themselves unique and essential opportunities for self-expression in young people, but it is drama's byproducts (discipline, confidence, performance under pressure and most of all empathy) that I am most interested in and is why I find the subject so rewarding to teach.Additional skills:
Alongside my many years of experience as a performer, I am a qualified and active Zumba and dance fitness instructor, and have experience teaching basic ballroom and latin dance classes. I have choreographed for an a cappella outfit that won the Audience Choice award at the Moscow Spring Festival in 2019. I also have experience in teaching group and individual singing lessons to young people.
For several years I have also run a small calligraphy business, and am skilled in a number of methods and handwritten fonts.
Industry awards:
Audience Choice Award at the Moscow Music Festival 2019 (part of a team)
Best West End Show at the Whats On Stage Awards 2019 (part of a company)
