About me
An ambitious, conscientious, kind and 'people' person.I have worked hard to achieve my role as a Head of Wardrobe, and feel lucky to have worked on a variety of productions along the way, from Musical Theatre (on tour and in town), to Opera and Shakespeare in the park.
All of which have shaped the enjoyment and experience that I have had so far, and given me so much already to offer as a head of department today.
I am a very approachable and enthusiastic person, with a calming and positive personality. I am very meticulous with my approach to each show, and enjoy being highly organised and fully engaged with the job in hand.
Time management is extremely important to me and I always ensure that I give full commitment to all aspects of the job. I'm Looking for the next exciting challenge now to further enhance my knowledge and skill set, in order to overcome new challenges in our crazy diverse world of wardrobe and costume in theatre.
Additional skills:
Wardrobe- Experienced in advanced costume maintenance, alteration and repairs, including re-makes over cast change. Managing budgets, putting together bibles, and a knowledge of buying and sourcing fabrics and haberdashery. Comprehensive knowledge of laundering and dressing, creating plots and organising the set up of new shows. Very competent at fittings.
Costume Construction- Experienced in pattern drafting, period and contemporary, flat and stand cutting. In depth knowledge of machine and hand sewing techniques. A good understanding of dyeing fabrics, and enjoy decorative embellishment and breaking down!
