About me
Charlotte has written and directed award-winning short documentaries and short fiction films, including Don't Stand so Close to Me, which she made at the age of 16 and was nominated for an ATOM Award; and The House of Names, which stars Samuel Johnson and Kim Gyngell and screened at the 2003 Melbourne International Film Festival, the 2004 St Kilda Film Festival, Rhode Island Film Festival and the Berlin Interfilm Festival, among others. Other short fiction credits include Two Minutes to Midnight, starring Emma Lung (writer/director) and in 2006 she directed Ingrid Sits Holding a Knife, written by Lally Katz and funded by the Australian Film Commission.Charlotte has also directed theatre as well as music videos for high-profile bands.
In between projects, Charlotte has trained with some of Australia's leading film directors, doing work experience with Rolf de Heer (Alexandra's Project, Ten Canoes, Bad Boy Bubby) and attachments with Donald Crombie (Caddie, Playing Beattie Bow), Craig Monahan (The Interview, Peaches) and with Roger Hodgman on the popular drama series The Secret Life of Us.
Since moving to London in 2008, Charlotte has been working professionally as a freelance writer and director, working particularly in the not-for-profit sector creating short films, documentaries and campaign videos for numerous charities.
