About me
I am a recent graduate in Technical Theatre and Stage Management from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. My time at RADA has given me an invaluable insight into the essential components for the smooth running of a performance with the highest possible production values and professionalism. During my time I took on multiple roles as Stage Manager, DSM, ASM and ASM Book Cover. Each role was hands on and provided me with a clear insight into the demands of the role within the industry. My time at RADA allowed me to develop many different abilities includingworking on my own initiative, organisation, understanding the need to be adaptable whilst still achieving immovable deadlines, honing my communication skills, working as a team and also with different companies, directors, and designers, and therefore managing and motivating people from a range of backgrounds, experiences, and ages. I also had the opportunity to work shadow the stage management team working on Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution at the London County Hall, and War Horse at the Troubadour Theatre, Wembley.
Since graduating in 2021 I have taken on roles with the Bloomsbury Festival in London and with RABBLE Theatre Company based in Reading. Both roles required me to use a wide range stage management skills and drew on my knowledge of other technical theatre departments such as props, dressing and other related skills that I had learnt during my time at RADA. It was interesting to experience working with different professional organisations on such contrasting productions and venues.
This past year I decided to take time for some personal development and go travelling to broaden my experiences of other cultures and people. I feel it has helped me to grow enormously as an individual, adapting and developing skills learned for the theatre by putting them into practice in other professions such housekeeping and hospitality whilst travelling. Above all, travelling has given me
more confidence in myself and a real sense of self-belief. I know for sure now that I have the strength to keep going no matter what and achieve my goals, that I can resolve difficult situations maturely and without conflict and that I have the confidence to meet new people in unique circumstances and build happy, positive relationships.
