About me

I have been working in costume for seven years in theatre, opera, film, television, music videos, commercials, and short film productions. I started working in theatre at The Rose Theatre Kingston in 2017 where I designed and supervised the youth theatre shows. I was responsible for sourcing, buying, making and then maintaining the costumes throughout the run of the shows. I then went on to working in bigger departments as an assistant and dresser making sure the costumes were laundered on time and where they needed to be for quick changes. After having worked in theatre for a few years I then had the opportunity to train in television which led to me to work as a costume assistant and fitter. I have had a variety of responsibilities such as crowd fittings, buying, pulling costumes, and assisting key crowd standbys on set. As a fitter I have worked on a variety of periods from modern day through to the 1300's. Due to working on 'The Sandman' which time-hopped from removed and then the 1980's I gained a lot of historical costume knowledge during my time working on that production. I have advanced sewing skills so I can use that knowledge to adapt garments and problem solve in fittings, and also create something unique if needed.
When I am not working in a larger team I have designed for short films, music videos, and worked as a stylist for PR content on my own. Due to my diverse skill set, I have become an adaptable team member and I can apply my different skills to the varying needs within a costume department.

I really enjoy working in costume because of the collaboration aspect and working with creative like-minded people!
