About me
I'm really enthusiastic about working in the industry. It's something I've wanted to do for a while now and, finally, have the courage to make the leap. Being involved in productions is really exciting! I have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and through past experience I have exercised my vocabulary when talking to people, being direct and clear. During my time at Blink I had to shortlist a load of props and costumes for a shoot that was happening the next day. While doing this I communicated with the producers and the director over the phone and text about what would best fit the shoot and what they wanted. This all had to be done quickly, and efficiently as we had a deadline. I feel that this demonstrates a good level of people skills, being a runner, and communicating with 2 senior figures involved in a production. Furthermore, I have experience and thrive when working in a team, whether that would be running a team or working within one. I consider myself to be a reliable team member who takes his professional work seriously and is able to step into unchartered waters. On a music video shoot as someone had to leave early, I stepped up to the task of camera trainee, helping change lenses, moving the dolly, and helping out with organizing camera batteries. I've learned that being honest about your ability to perform tasks is an important quality. To ensure that no time is wasted, I would rather be honest when I am unsure of how to do something and ask the right questions to make sure that the task is done properly and on time. Time management is very important to me as I know that it is something that is integral in making productions run smoothly. On one shoot that I was lending a hand on we had to return all the props by 6pm so I made sure to get to work an hour and a half earlier, making sure I would be able to meet the deadline. Forward-thinking, being prepared on location or in the office is really important. During my time at the Blink offices I started handling the receipts and the petty cash so we could get it done by the end of the working week, as all the other members of staff were busy and I was at a loose end. I'm really excited about my future in Film and TV and cannot wait to work more.Skills
