About me

I'm currently an Edit Assistant at Lime Pictures on Hollyoaks and have been working at Lime for two years. I have learnt and developed skills in both the creative and technical aspects of assisting. I’ve always given my best to fulfil my work tasks which have been recognised by my manager and coordinator, leading me to gain more responsibility, including opportunities to edit and training new assistants. I am confident with different codecs, exports of AAF's, quality control, packaging episodes for the channel, file delivery, the ingest process, syncing rushes, transcoding and consolidating. Along with being proficient at the technical aspects of my job, I recently was put forward to shadow the post production coordinator. This developed my organisational and communication skills, having to coordinate between many different departments within the company. I’ve also had the opportunity to progress creatively by editing a promotional video about how disability is portrayed in Hollyoaks for a Channel 4 disability conference.

Additional information:
After graduating from University I took 18 months to travel the world and it was in that time I was able to combine my personal interests and my creative practise to produce short films of my own experiences. I learnt these skills throughout my time at University, especially after being given the opportunity to produce and direct my final major project following a pitch to industry professionals.
As outlined above, my experience has shaped my technical knowledge, attention to detail and efficient approach to a working environment both within a team and independently, as well as demonstrating my commitment and passion for producing and editing videos and learning the technical and creative aspects of post production.
