About me
My name is Mark Dickins and I have recently finished working as a camera assistant on the current series of Big Brother for Roll to Record. This role involves me operating cameras full time. At the moment I am also working freelance as a rigger for Sky Sports News with Macdonald Broadcasting Services.Last year I graduated with a 2:1 in Outside Broadcasting Production Operations at Southampton Solent University. I am very keen to develop a career in outside broadcasting.
I was also part of a student media production company called Solent Productions at university. This involved regularly working in an outside broadcast production team which necessitated working in a team environment and also required good communication skills. I have considerable knowledge of both Mac and Window operating systems. I am experienced in using professional cameras such as Panasonics HVX200, HPX371 and Thomson LDK 3000 both in a studio environment and on location.
I have developed a professional standard of editing skills with the use of software such as Final Cut Pro. Although I gained a good deal of experience in filming outside broadcast events at university, I am looking to develop my detailed technical knowledge of every aspect of professional camerawork. To this end I am keen to gain as much experience as possible in areas such as rigging for professional productions or working within a kit hire company.
