About me
I am a recent graduate and capable researcher looking for the opportunity to begin a career in television and media. I have spent many years developing my critical research skills, collecting compiling and presenting accurate and clear information being a crucial skill in my academic study. I have been able to apply these skills to journalism through the relevant societies at my universities, producing ground commentary articles in my own style that have received editorial praise. Outside of university, I have been able to further apply myself creatively on a number of projects, from music and talent festivals to awards ceremonies and charity fundraisers. These projects have required drive and determination to meet these goals.Experience (GOL, photography, events): Over the years I have maintained a consistent interest in the industry and have taken every opportunity open to me. Most recently, I completed a work experience on the Television production Gangs of London. I am pleased to say that my hard work, attitude, and ability resulted the producers asking me to return after placement as a paid employee. This has been a wonderful learning experience and I am extremely grateful for the chance to prove myself in this industry. In addition, I have worked in (cv stuff here like the photography, other directly relevant stuff).
I have a particular interest in documentaries and factual entertainment. I have had a fascination with documentaries my entire life, from those of Louis Theroux and Stacey Dooley to (nature ones, I’m sure you know). I believe that my unique blend of intellectual and factual rigour, artistic creativity and exploration, and appreciation of production requirements makes me a capable researcher.
Additional information:
My progress in the industry has been slightly hindered over the last two years as I have developed a form of inflammatory arthritis. I had spent a year on crutches prior to diagnosis and am now receiving treatment that has returned my life to a degree of normalcy. I mention this as I believe that representation is important, and extends behind the camera as well as in front of it. It also contextualises my experience. I have been able to achieve a great deal during a time of great pain and suffering. This has made me stronger and more capable, and not that I am undergoing treatment, I am able to work twice as hard as ever before.
