About me
At the age of ten I looked through the lens of my first camera, and something clicked...and it wasn't the shutter. Throughout my childhood I watched a variety of films, from Aladdin to Robocop, The Mummy to Terminator. Since then I have been dedicated to becoming a director and I made my first short in 2009. In 2013 I completed my BA Hons in Film Production and Cinematography with Bournemouth University. Over the past few years I have gathered experience in cinematography, set dressing and directing on a variety of prime-time television shows such as Downton Abbey and EastEnders. In 2013, I gained the rights to Stephen King’s I am the Doorway and hope to release the film in 2014. It is currently in pre-production.Referees:
Phil John - TV Director
I had the pleasure of welcoming Matthew to the production [Being Human]... he took everything in, watching cast rehearsals and blocking, directing actors, sequence construction, special effects management, crew dynamics and management. He introduced himself to the various departments involved, as well as forging relationships of his own with the crew and cast. He really became part of the crew. Most importantly, Matthew was always ready with his own ideas of how a particular scene could be covered. Matthew is an extremely enterprising, focused and confident individual. To attend the production, Matthew financed his own travel and accommodation. He was always on time, always interested, always asking the right questions. I wish him the very best of luck in his future career.
