About me
Michael T Robinson BECTU. BIPP. Experienced Lighting cameraman, Camera operator (Film and video), editor (film and video) Special Fx. Track record in Broadcast, Commercials, Film production, News UK and abroad. In the 1990’s I produced the official 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics tile in the form of an interactive CD ROM for the International Olympic Committee.Visiting lecturer in 3D animation and video production also helping with course development at Sunderland and Northumberland University.

Film production I have used16mm, Super 16, 35mm and Panavision as part of full a crew and as a independent cameraman in locations throughout the world.
I presently own and operate a SonyEX3 and Sony DSR500WSP with Steadicam, SQN mixer, Sennheiser radio mikes, Dedo and Kino lighting kits.
In the area of post production. I have edited and directed in many different film formats, multiple machine edit systems, and non-linear systems including –Lightworks, Avid, Premier and Final Cut some of which I have taught at Sunderland University.
I have attended short courses to develop my skills including 3D CG and also Multimedia development and web based video. I am familiar and a regular use the following software Photoshop, After Effects, Combustion, Audition, Encore, Dreamweaver, Director , Word, Excel, Access and Acrobat.
I would not class my self as an engineer but I have carried out field repairs to production equipment and installed edit suites and operated with OB systems and Sat trucks.
I have always worked closely with computer technology, particular over the last 15 years. During the production of the Winter Olympic CD Rom, I was lead in the development of video compression systems and multimedia software to enable the project to be successful. Being surrounded by programmes and computer systems people, enabled me to develop a knowledge of computer technology and operating systems. I am now happy to build, repair computers and assemble none linear edit systems.
I have managed and project coordinated a NGO community projects in Uganda in removed : building a training centre, a poultry farm, solar lighting scheme, and water treatment and distribution installation. The project was awarded a Queens Award in 2009.
