About me
I, like many others, discovered early on I had a flare for theatre. But this was different, and it wasn't just a hunger to be involved- it was also wanting to know how the magic happens, what is the glue that holds this art together? I started out as a performer, in school shows and amateur shows in the Edinburgh Fringe. Halfway through my school career the opportunity arose for me to join the schools Stage Management team, which is a role I fully immersed myself in. From there, I left school to study at college, and then later to the RCS to become a Lighting Designer. I worked on multiple shows as a Designer, Technician, Board Operator and Production Electrician, training me in various techniques and knowledge of equipment- broadening my spread of skills across the spectrum of lighting. In 2020 I was lucky enough to be sent on placement with ColourSound Experiment, based in London. It was here that my journey into the Rock n Roll side of our industry, and I was taught about some of the cutting edge technology that is coming into our industry that I wasn't able to experience in my Uni environment. In my two weeks there I spent days in all departments: Rigging, Generics, Intelligents, Networking & AV, and worked two gigs at both Brixton Academy & The Hammersmith Apollo.
My road through my roles in theatre and my brief stint on gigs, has already given me a vast understanding and appreciation of the work we all do as creative's, which is a pivotal part in being a member of an effective creative team.
