About me
Responsible, determined, dedicated and motivated individual who is committed to achieving success, either by working on my own or in a group as leader or highly valued team member. Able to delegate effectively in addition to having the capacity to manage my time and work efficiently, Work well under pressure to tight deadlines and specific targets. Good interpersonal skills and excellent communicator, both orally and written.Additional skills:
I have been employed as a full time Stage hand by the Darlington Hippodrome since it re opened from its major refurbishment in October 2017. During my time there I have become a valued member of the receiving house through my hard work and perseverance.
I am confident and experienced in LX (Rigging, Focusing and operation), Sound (Rigging and basic operation), AV (rigging and operation), Flying (counterweight and motor), Set building/striking, basic carpentry and follow spotting. Some of the roles I have done in my time there include LX programmer (comedy, dance shows and gigs busking), LX Operator (Touring shows, inc Christmas panto run 2019) flyman, stage manager, stage hand, Stage LX (Pyrotechnics & Special Effects) and Follow spotting.
Though working at the Leeds Playhouse I managed to volunteer back in 2016 for a huge festival called Latitude Festival . The first year I helped with the in and the out setting up the stage, flooring, health and safety, getting the backline ready prior to each bands performance, fire points a whole range of tasks I helped the team with. Each year my responsibilities and tasks have grown, cut forward to 2019 in which I hired my own rig and my own lighting desk. Was responsible for the whole lighting rig in our tent (Alcove Stage) which covered two stages with a minimal budget. I was able to delegate responsibilities within my team and respond and change to the outside environment, using my knowledge of procedures to help give advice and recommendations to the tent manager. I worked tirelessly and relentlessly to make sure that the lighting in the tent was the best available for the budget I had.
I am a hard working, experienced stagehand who has learnt his craft from the bottom and worked my way up. From volunteering at any event I could work at, doing sometimes meaningless tasks to gain experience and knowledge to further my progression. I have become a valued full time member of the theatre through my hard work and perseverance to become a better stagehand.
