About me

During my three years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama studying Stage Management & Technical Theatre, I gained a diverse set of practical and administrative skills suitable for a career in the arts sector.

Since graduating I have worked freelance in Stage Management roles at a range of venues. This has provided me with over two years practical experience of working both creatively and administratively, collaborating with an array of artistic personalities and gaining expertise in the self-management and data handling skills necessary to stage manage a production single-handedly.

Most recently I have been working as an Admin Assistant at the Orange Tree Theatre where I have taken on a range of administrative and box office/reception duties and assisted in several departments including Marketing and Education. I have provided PA support for my colleagues, requiring effective diary management and organisation as well as competent use of Microsoft Office packages. I have had to be quick to learn and adapt to working with the systems used at the theatre and have developed my customer service skills when presenting myself and welcoming visitors to the building.

I am very efficient, well organised and self-motivated, and I love nothing more than the buzz of working as part of an efficient team. I am used to dealing with a large workload, balancing and prioritising tasks effectively to achieve the best possible result while also ensuring that I pay attention to detail.

The pressure of deadlines is familiar to me after several years of freelancing and having to work within a time-pressured environment. I am efficient at working both independently and within a team to resolve issues as they arise in a timely manner.

I have strong verbal communication and literacy skills gained from my experience in working as part of a backstage team and administrating show documentation. I am calm in a crisis, flexible and adaptable; traits that are all required to successfully contend with the demands of putting on a theatre production.

I am now looking to move into a permanent administrative role within the arts in order to maximise the use of my strengths in a stable environment and to allow me more opportunities for career progression.
