Television Director BBC, LEEDS, YORKS
Directed numerous documentaries for BBC Yorkshire, many of which were subsequently shown on BBC 2. My role included working as an assistant producer in order, not just to enhance the visual telling of a story, but also help ensure a sound editorial brief was adhered to.
Directed live and recorded studio/outside broadcast for news, sports, music, debate and political programmes. Oversaw major BBC online productions embracing the digital future.
Instrumental in the creation of original programmes and presentations of various projects for broadcast and online.
Directed BBC Yorkshire's flagship news programme, Look North, for a total of 19 years.


June 2004 to August 2008

Maintained up-to-date knowledge of the Broadcasting industry developments through freelancing and maintaining professional contacts, broadening teaching opportunities. During my time at the university I was able to bring in numerous industry experts to enhance the students experience and to open doors into work placements and internships.

Produced and Directed documentary and entertainment series for BBC 2, BBC Digital, ITV Yorkshire.
Helped to establish a Television News programme in Bosnia.
Co-authored a cookery/travel book focused on Northumberland."
