Simonluca first studied Filmmaking at Nuova Università del Cinema e della Televisione in Cinecittà Studios, Rome in 2006. He then began to study at Roma Tre University where he got a full mark degree in 2010. In 2011 he attended the Camera Operator workshop held by Bob Shipsey and in 2012 the HD Lighting workshop held by BSC Nic Morris at the National Film and Television School. He keeps practicing, studying and improving his cinematography skills.
