About me
Having originally graduated in 2017 from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts where I studied Theatre and Performance Design, I designed and was involved in a huge range of events and productions, across a wide variety of spaces and worked alongside a number of directors, theatre makers, performers and artists. The skills I have learnt throughout this time have given me the confidence and people skills to take this training and develop it into other roles and departments I am passionate towards in this industry. From the people I have worked with and the new skills I have developed, I feel I could benefit this job role and give it a new perspective, whilst continuing to learn and work hard. Within our industry especially, I believe it is highly important to have interchangeable skills for the arts and its staff to succeed to the highest potential.
Over the past 3 years I have continued to work within the arts, focusing mainly on theatrical productions, as well as having worked with community based groups, creating opportunities within smaller communities for people to engage with the arts.
These include Curious Monkey Theatre Company, who I worked alongside during the Derby Live Festival in 2019, working with young people in care devising and performing work based on their own stories to an audience. I feel this is where my passion to work within the arts has always steamed from, wanting to help vulnerable demographics realise their full potential in a positive, artistic manner.
I have also worked with WAC Arts in Hampstead, North London, on their final year performances, working alongside external directors and theatre makers to create full shows for paying members of the public to a high, professional standard.
Alongside my theatre work, I have also spent my time working in a number of retail and office based work, the most recent of these including Front of House work at the Apollo Victoria Theatre and as an Office Admin Assistant for Petershams Millinery Supplies. Both of these jobs, despite seeming very different have given me a similar set of interpersonal skills. Both require having a confident and friendly manner with the general public and approaching and assisting them when needed.
