About me

Hello! I am a multi-skilled theatre technician with a specialism in sound.

Self-motivated with a drive for development, I continually develop my knowledge and abilities to confidently offer skills across audio, AV, LX, stagecraft & production management. I have gained additional qualifications in BS7909 (Temporary Power Systems), BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and in the Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment (formerly PAT).

After graduating from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with BA(Hons) Sound Technology, I launched my professional career in 2014. (Although if allowing non-professional examples, my experience extends to 2008). With an affinity for the outdoors, I am not easily deterred by the whims of weather have worked in conditions from the water-logged Glastonbury to the ‘Beast from the East’...!

I have been a keen musician since childhood and with the occasional on-stage appearance, I feel an appreciative empathy for performers. I combine artistic flair and scientific precision, to achieve both creative and efficient working methods. Self-motivated with a drive for development, I have continued to expand my knowledge and abilities to confidently offer skills across audio, AV, LX, stagecraft & production management.

Equipped with a full, clean UK driving licence, I am happy behind the wheel of a production van, viewing the journey as part of the fun. I enjoy traveling and have been fortunate to do so in both personal and professional life, with a footprint from California to South Korea and Scotland to South Africa.

Equally happy as part of a team or working alone, I can comfortably apply myself in environments ranging from minimally staffed productions to largely crewed festivals and enjoy providing leadership where required. I have a passion for providing high quality technical support and aim to match artists’ needs with audiences’ expectations.

Thomas is a Liverpool based sound designer and theatre technician with a global professional footprint. A keen team-player, he is quick to get on with new people and enjoys working with colleagues across various disciplines. Confident also when working independently, he draws from all-round knowledge and experience to produce the highest possible standard in theatrical sound.

Whilst maintaining a specialism in sound, he continues to broaden his skill set across LX, AV and production management.

A musician at heart, Thomas is both a flautist and guitarist. He works with performers empathetically to support their requirements through friendly professionalism.
