About me
Growing up, I have always been able to visualise things in my head vividly before creating them and imagine scenarios before and whilst mapping them out. I feel this visual ability is what allows me to tell stories engagingly and is what helps me to relate to other people and the stories they have to tell. I also feel it is this ability and way of operating that has drawn me to film and TV as I want to share my stories and experiences, as well as hear other peoples' and help them to do the same. I also want to meet and collaborate with others with more or different experience than me to learn from them in order to improve as an individual.I am a very sociable person and have good people skills and therefore love meeting and getting to know new people. However, I am also a hard worker and can distinguish between when it is time for a laugh and a joke and when it is time to get my head down and work. I enjoy working and collaborating as a team, however I can also take responsibility and lead with the right knowledge on how things run. As I have grown older, I have become more interested in the way people operate and conduct themselves in different situations. This has drawn me more to watching interviews and talk shows rather than films. However, despite this I still have a significant interest in film and have watched a lot of films growing up which I feel have inspired who I am as a person and how I express myself. I am also a very sporty person and enjoy playing football, swimming and boxing.
As a young kid I used to make comedies with my friend just for fun where he had a hulk fist as his choice of weapon to fight me in a sumo wrestler suit. The quality of these films were not bafta award winning but they sparked a passion for creating film from an early age. I went on to study media at A-level before doing a level 3 diploma in Art & Design media in my gap year after which I went to UWE to study a degree in filmmaking; graduating with a first.
Over the duration of studying these 3 courses I have developed skills in both camera and editing; using the Nikon D3300 and the Sony FS5 as well as softwares such as Premier pro and Protools. I have also developed a basic level of research and production planning skills through experience of organising and creating my own projects, as well as working on set.
