AKSON STUDIO was established in 1992 to produce artistic television programmes. The company has worked on all types of motion picture works, from full-length feature films to documentary series, TV theatres and high-budget television entertainment formats. Some recent features produced by AKSON STUDIO include Statyści (Extras), Persona Non Grata, Oda do radości (Ode to Joy) and the series Solidarność, Solidarność... (Solidarity, Solidarity...). In 2007 the company produced Jutro idziemy do kina (Tommorow We're Going to the Movies) by Michał Kwieciński – a television film that was later transferred to 35 mm. Another major production of the past year was Andrzej Wajda's Katyń – the first Polish feature in years to receive a nomination for the foreign language Academy Award. In 2008, AKSON STUDIO produced the historical series Czas honoru and the feature film Drzazgi by Maciej Pieprzyca. Currently AKSON STUDIO is working on the newest feature by Andrzej Wajda, entitled Tatarak.
