Alea Theatre takes its name from a recent performance-research project entitled Aleastory. Aleastory is derived from the notion of ‘chance story’ (aleatory), in which a fragmented ‘playtext’, comprised of various texts, may facilitate ‘narrative association’ and the emergence of multiple unique interpretations. Aleastory, performed at The Festival of… (CSSD, 2009), was their maiden performance.
