The Anonymous Players Dramatic Society was founded in September 1932 with the idea of performing plays of artistic and theatrical merit. Since then they have presented over 250 full-length plays and many one-acts.
In the early days and until the 1970's the actors and actresses were indeed anonymous; no names appearing on any programmes or advertising matter. The inaugural production was The Young Idea by Noel Coward.
