Neville is responsible for all the creative aspects of Aviary and Danesh is the financing partner.
Their first two films were ‘Lost Dogs’ (2005) and ‘Flirting With Flamenco’ (2006).
Aviary Films was incorporated in March 2007 and was the production company for the third film – ‘Ealing Comedy’ (2008)
Current Plans for UK based Bollywood films
Aviary Films is the production banner under which ‘Naachle London’ and future UK based Bollywood films will be produced.
In addition to ‘Naachle London’; Aviary will be making a drinking comedy titled ‘4 Sharaabi’ in the spirit of ‘The Hangover’ meets ‘3 Idiots’ in late 2011 / early 2012. The second film will also be shot largely in Ealing borough.
After these two films, Aviary has plans for a further 4 UK based Bollywood films after 2012.
Distribution of Aviary’s Bollywood Films.
Aviary has entered into a distribution arrangement with established Indian entertainment company, PVR Pictures whereby ‘Naachle London’ and ‘4 Sharaabi’ will be released in India on 100+ prints a supporting marketing spend.
Aviary will handle the UK release of its films itself. ‘Ealing Comedy’ was released in 20 UK multiplex cinemas across the Showcase and Empire circuits. After its’ cinema release; ‘Ealing Comedy’ went into 700 Blockbuster stores nationwide.
Plans for UK based International films
Aviary continues to work on international English language projects aimed at the mainstream UK and US cinema markets.
In 2010; Aviary were development producers of the bio-pic of Kathleen Ferrier – the English singing sensation of the late 1940s and early 1950s. This project had Bruce Beresford (‘Driving Miss Daisy’ and ‘Double Jeopardy’) attached as Director and Catherine Zeta Jones interested in the lead.
